VS Lignite Power Plant is a lignite-based thermal power plant located in Gurha village in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. This thermal power plant is owned by KSK Energy Ventures.
The plant is operated by VS Lignite Power, a subsidiary of KSK Energy Ventures. KSK states on its website that it has “entered into a power delivery agreement with various bulk consumers in state of Rajasthan and is expected to cater to the power requirements of industrial consumers.
VS Lignite Power Private Limited is an operational 135 megawatt lignite coal plant in the state of Rajasthan in India. The power plant is maintained and operated by KSK Energy Ventures. The Lignite based thermal power station has an installed capacity of 135 Megawatt in one unit. It has a circulating fluidised bed combustion boiler.
The VS Lignite Power Private Limited has signed a power supply contract with several bulk consumers in Rajasthan and balance supplies to the native utility. The VS Lignite Power Private Limited uses Lignite as its fuel and was assigned with the Gurha Lignite Block at Kolayat in the district of Bikaner in Rajasthan by the union ministry of coal of central government in the month of July in 2005.

The anticipated utilisation of lignite for the plant is around one Metric tonnes per annum at 80 percent Plant Load Factor. VSLP has signed a mining lease contract with state government of Rajasthan for a period of 30 years and mine in process for the last few years.
The VS Lignite Power Private Limited is commissioned in March 31, 2010. The approved capacity of Plant is 135 MW. Its installed capacity is also 135 MW. There is only one unit in operation and it is Unit 1. The first unit is commissioned in March 31, 2010 with an installed capacity of 135 Megawatt. The International Support is provided by the SEPCO III, which is a People’s Republic of China Company Limited.
